Pets Are Worth Saving, P.A.W.S., has served Lauderdale, Colbert, and Franklin Counties in North Alabama since 2003. We are an all volunteer group. We do not have a facility; however, each animal that enters our program goes into an approved foster home. All animals are totally vetted and spay/neutered. PAWS is funded solely through our fundraising efforts and generous donations from the community.
ALL donated funds directly support needy animals. We get calls from citizens, shelters, & veterinarians, concerning injured, abandoned, neglected, abused, and unwanted animals all of the time. The animals themselves range from seniors to orphaned babies, with every variation in between. We cannot help them if we do not have the funds. We are an all volunteer nonprofit organization. Since we are 501c3 status with the IRS, your monetary donation is 100% tax deductible! Please feel free to check us out on your favorite charity tracking website. Thank you from the PAWS family, but most of all, from the pets you help save!!!
How You Can Help
Foster a Pet in Need
Fostering is an integral part of our organization as it allows us to place abandoned, orphaned, or surrendered dogs and cats into loving homes while they wait for a permanent adoptive family. PAWS provides the foster person with all things needed to care for the animal. The more foster homes we have, the more animals we are able to save!
Volunteer To Help PAWS
P.A.W.S. is always in need of volunteers to help in many areas. We need volunteers to help at adoption events, fundraising events, our First Friday booth, and other events throughout the year. If you have skills or a talent that you think might be beneficial to our cause, you could volunteer on the fundraising committee or marketing/advertising/promotions area. We need volunteers that are able to help transport pets to places such as Birmingham, Athens, and other places in this area. Please consider volunteering if you have any spare time!
